FAQs
Why did you create a course?
We decided that as we have met and talked with our clients the first 5-8 sessions we end up talking about the same things over and over trying to teach the basics. We decided that we would create a course in order to streamline the process to save both time and energy (for us and our clients) in order to relay and share the most important information first, then as we start to work one on one, the fundamentals are already understood and we can work on the more specific hurdles as we help you reach for the far ends of your potential.
Do you specialize in a specific sport?
We deal with elements of performance and not coaching specific techniques of any specific sport. Therefore, we specialize in performance, as all of our techniques apply to many different sports and situations. We love learning about new sports and kinds of competition.
Do you work with anyone other than athletes?
We teach techniques that help people overcome with hurdles like performance anxiety, lack of motivation, focus, etc. While these can be big hurdles in athletics, they also apply to different aspects of life. If you perform in anything and wish to do improve your performances and have more consistent high performance results, we can help reach your full potential. Whether that be in sales, management, leadership, speaking, music, or whatever you are looking to achieve.
What if I don't live in your area?
Don't sweat it. As you can tell we work online and are happy to continue working online through the consulting process. I have worked with people across the entire United States. If meeting in person isn't possible, we can use phone calls, FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.
Are you a Sport Psychologist?
The title "psychologist" is reserved for licensed clinical psychologists. A sport psychologist is a psychologist who works with athletes. Their training is in clinical psychology, which means they tend to be someone who can help you with serious issues like depression, traumas, eating disorders, mental illnesses, etc. They have doctor-patient confidentiality and abide by HIPPA laws, which means they can't talk about your sessions with parents or coaches without your permission.
On the other hand, a sport psychology consultant (who might also use the title "mental skills coach”, “mental conditioning coach”, ect.) teaches psychological skills and techniques specific to performance enhancement. There are no HIPPA regulations, which means he or she can collaborate with your parents or coaches.
We are Sport Psychology Consultants. We teach our clients and teams skills and techniques that will stretch their abilities to perform to their highest potential and to maximize their hard work and dedication.
